Phumlani Pikoli

Multidisciplinary and award-winning artist, Phumlani Pikoli's creative talents spanned various forms, with his literary work leaving an indelible mark. His acclaimed debut short story collection, The Fatuous State of Severity, was uniquely adapted into a multi-sensory exhibition with the British Council in South Africa. His novel, Born Freeloaders, won the prestigious K. Sello Duiker Memorial Award in 2020. Pikoli passed away in 2021, leaving behind a powerful literary legacy.
