Prev Reddy

Prev Reddy is an award-winning South African comedian, actor, digital creator, and author based in Johannesburg. Widely recognized for his sharp-witted viral sketches and boundary-pushing stand-up comedy, Prev is also the creative mind behind the beloved cultural alter-ego, Aunty Shamilla.

His debut memoir, Qualified Disappointment, is adapted from his critically acclaimed hit one-man show, Prev Reddy is a Triple Threat, which made its international premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024 before playing to packed houses in London in 2025.

Originally hailing from Durban, Prev holds a BA in Motion Picture Medium. His work fearlessly and hilariously interrogates themes of identity, queerness, and cultural contradiction. By blending vulnerable storytelling with a masterful comedic craft, he has cemented his place as one of the most distinctive, vital contemporary voices in South African entertainment and literature.
