It’s a book to entrance young readers with the perennially appealing idea of communicating with other species, and with the message that kindness can triumph.
[G]o down to the woods for a gentle bear story…This divinely illustrated book begs to become a series…I enjoyed this gentle story and found her illustrations divine: Mrs Snell is a perfectly sculpted, minimalist Cruella de Vil, the adult bears are fabulously fierce, the baby bears visually vulnerable. Expect growls of approval.
