Die #JacoJacobs25 Leesuitdaging: 300 Boeke, 25 Jaar, en Eindelose Pret!
Pan Macmillan is trots om sedert 2020 deel te wees van Jaco Jacobs se publikasiereis. Om sy loopbaan van 25 jaar en die bekendstelling van sy 300ste boek, Vreemde dinge kan op 'n Dinsdag gebeur, te vier, nooi ons lesers van alle ouderdomme uit om aan die #JacoJacobs25 Leesuitdaging deel te neem!
Hoe werk dit?
Die uitdaging is eenvoudig: Ons het 'n lys van 25 prettige maniere geskep om te lees. Jy kan enige boek gebruik om hierdie take te voltooi!
Wil jy sien hoe 'n meesterstorieverteller hierdie leesuitdaging aanpak? Ons het ook vir Jaco uitgedaag om deel te neem en sal deur die loop van die volgende 25 weke op sosiale media deel hoe hý dit interpreteer. Hy gaan natuurlik sy Pan Macmillan-versameling gebruik hiervoor 😉 Volg ons aanlyn om te sien hoe hy hierdie taak aanpak!
Hoe om deel te neem aan die pret
Die uitdaging gaan amptelik op die laaste Dinsdag in Mei afskop! Hier is hoe jy kan deelneem:
- Kies 'n Uitdaging: Kyk na ons amptelike uitdagingslys (sien die prentjie hieronder!). Of dit nou lees in 'n tent is, 'n snaakse hoed dra, of vir jou (denkbeeldige) troeteldier lees, daar is iets vir almal.
- Neem 'n Foto of Video: Vang 'n oomblik van jou leesavontuur vas.
- Deel die Magic: Plaas jou foto of video op sosiale media.
Aan die einde van die uitdaging gaan Pan Macmillan die mees entoesiastiese deelnemer(s) beloon – volg saam om uit te vind hoe!
Hoekom moet jy die uitdaging aanvaar?
Lees moenie net iets wees wat jy by 'n lessenaar doen nie. Dis 'n avontuur! Hierdie uitdaging gaan nie net oor die voltooiing van 'n boek nie; dit gaan oor die vreugde, en speelsheid, van die proses en die wonderlike plekke waarheen 'n storie jou kan neem. Daar is natuurlik ook die bonus van ‘n prys aan die einde van die uitdaging!
Laai die uitdaging af en kry daardie boeke gereed. Ons kan nie wag om te sien waar (en hoe!) jy lees nie!

Join us in celebrating a massive milestone for a local favourite! With the release of his 300th book, Jaco Jacobs marks 25 years as a beloved voice in South African children’s literature. It’s a quarter-century of storytelling excellence, and we’re marking the occasion with a challenge that’s just as fun as his books.
At Pan Macmillan SA Kids, we have been proud to be part of Jaco’s journey since 2020. To celebrate his career and the launch of his 300th book, Strange Things Can Happen on a Tuesday, we’re inviting readers of all ages to join the #JacoJacobs25 Reading Challenge!
How the Challenge Works
The challenge is simple: We’ve created a list of 25 fun ways to read. You can use any book you like to complete these tasks!
Want to see how a master storyteller takes on a reading challenge? We will be posting how Jaco takes on the challenge himself, using his beloved Pan Macmillan collection to tick off the tasks. Follow along to see how he takes on this task!
How to Join the Fun
Starting the last Tuesday in May, we’ll be kicking off the challenge officially! Here is how you can take part:
- Pick a Challenge: Check out our official challenge list (see the image below!). Whether it’s reading in a tent, wearing a silly hat, or reading to your (imaginary) pet, there is something for everyone.
- Snap a Photo or Video: Capture a moment of your reading adventure.
- Share the Magic: Post your photo or video on social media.
At the end of the challenge we might reward the most enthusiastic participant(s) – follow along to find out how!
Why Do the Challenge?
Reading shouldn't just be something you do at a desk. It’s an adventure! This challenge isn't just about finishing a book; it’s about the joy, the silliness, and the wonderful places a story can take you. There is of course also the promise of a prize at the end!
