She thought she'd seen the back of the Delaneys. How wrong could she be . . .

Ruthless is the fifth book in the compelling Annie Carter series by hit crime writer Jessie Keane.

Annie Carter should have demanded to see their bodies lying on a slab in the morgue, but she really believed the Delaney twins were gone from her life for good.

Now sinister things are happening around her and Annie Carter is led to one terrifying conclusion: her bitter enemies, the Delaney twins, didn't die all those years ago. They're back and they want her, and her family, dead.

This isn't the first time someone has made an attempt on her life, yet she's determined to make it the last. Nobody threatens Annie Carter and lives to tell the tale . . .

Continue this gripping series with Stay Dead.

Gritty and powerful, Martina Cole fans will love this addictive novel
The novel takes the reader on a journey from London, to New York, and across to rural Ireland. What I especially loved about this story was the way multiple story strands were woven together: a coming-of-age story for Annie's daughter, Layla, and an explosive battle of wills (and sexual tension) for Annie as she tries to keep an uneasy truce with her ex-husband; all set within a deadly game of cat and mouse with a determined killer driven by revenge. Intriguing, suspenseful and thrilling. A real page turner.
Gripping right from the start and the setting of gangsters and East End London was great to read. I also really liked the character of Annie Carter, she's a likeable, feisty main character who takes you through her story at a high speed pace. This is a book full of suspense and tension and I found myself surprised by the narrative more than once. I'm now going to look out for the first Annie Cater novels and have no doubt that I'll enjoy them just as much.
